Audio Motion
The brief: to design and construct a recording studio to create an audio department for the new facilities for Audio Motion,
a high end motion capture company at their new modern headquarters in Banbury Road, Oxford.

The end result was both a full and facial motion capture facilty
with full surround sound capability. One of the first projects was
the film Gladiator.

The studio was required to be built under the mezzanine
of their design studios which had restricted ceiling height.
Use of natural daylight was requested to be maintained for
user comfort.
The studio was designed in Vectorworks 3D software, the individual
parts modelled in 3D and the fabrication plans generated with millimetre accuracy for manufacture off site (by Scrutton Engineering, Enfield, Essex). The walls and ceiling are cement impregnated woodwool supported by steel stanchions and beams, all vibration isolated on Sylomer pads.
